Fidgety Pie

I can't remember where I got this recipe
- and I have no idea at all why it is called Fidgety Pie!

250g cooked ham
1 onion, chopped
2 eating apples, sliced
2 potatoes, peeled and sliced
Chicken stock cube, dissolved in 300ml water
1 tsp sage
Black pepper
½ tsp hot pepper sauce (omit this if you prefer your food to be a little more bland!)
2 slices bread, made into crumbs
2 tsps butter

Cut the ham into small pieces. Put the ham, potatoes, onion and apples in layers, in an ovenproof casserole dish. Sprinkle with black pepper.

Add the sage and the pepper sauce to the chicken stock. Pour it over the items already in the casserole dish.

Cover the contents of the dish with breadcrumbs and dot the top with butter.

Cook at 190°C for about 1-1½hrs.
