Parks & Playgrounds
A few months ago, I had the task of trying to find some parks or playgrounds where a 'playgroup' could meet. I searched, both online and 'in-car' for several weeks to find appropriate ones within a reasonable distance. I found it more difficult than I imagined it would be. There are many, many parks and playgrounds in the area, but I had very specific questions in mind as I searched:
These were all factors to be considered. The local council information was good but didn't answer my specific questions. So, I went to take a look. I was quite stunned at how many children's playgrounds really were not suitable!! I include in my list some that were only a little short of 'perfection' as well as a few others that I have discovered since the original search. I give my findings in case someone else is looking - just as I was. I also give a few other links that I have found to be useful. I am aware that this will only be of use to comparatively few people. If you have, or know of, a similar page for your locality, please let me know and I will be happy to link to it. |
